Why Falls Prevention Matters
Falls are the leading cause of injury hospitalisation among older Australians and a major contributor to loss of independence. The good news is that falls are largely preventable with the right exercise-based intervention. Research consistently shows that targeted strength and balance training significantly reduces fall frequency and severity.
At SSEP, our Accredited Exercise Physiologists design and supervise structured falls prevention programs that address the key risk factors for falls — building the strength, balance and confidence to stay active and independent.
Risk Factors We Address
Our programs target the key physical risk factors for falls, including:
- Lower limb weakness and reduced muscle strength
