Performance
Bridging the Gap Between Rehab and Peak Performance
Return to performance (RTP) is the critical phase between completing rehabilitation and returning to full, unrestricted training and competition. It's a stage that's too often undervalued — athletes rush back, reinjure themselves and lose months of progress. Getting it right requires structured progressive loading, objective testing and a clear understanding of what your sport actually demands.
At SSEP, our Exercise Physiologists specialise in this transition. We work with athletes recovering from injury, surgery or extended time out of training to build the physical qualities needed to return safely and perform confidently.
Our Return to Performance Process
- Baseline Assessment — thorough evaluation of current strength, movement quality and cardiovascular fitness
- Progressive Reloading — evidence-based loading principles reintroducing the physical demands of your sport
- Performance Testing — objective strength, VO2 max and sport-specific functional tests to determine readiness
- Sport-Specific Preparation — training that replicates competition demands with coordinated coach and medical handover
