Athletic Development
Building athletes for life — not just for the season.
Performance
Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD)
Strength and conditioning is the systematic application of training science to develop the physical qualities that underpin performance — strength, power, speed, endurance, agility and coordination. At SSEP, our Exercise Physiologists design and deliver programs that are rooted in evidence, tailored to your sport and built around your goals.
Our clinics are equipped with dedicated strength and conditioning facilities at multiple locations across Sydney. Whether you're training for your first half marathon or preparing for elite competition, we have a program that fits.
How We Work With Athletes
Depending on your stage and goals, your EP will design a program that may include 1–2 sessions per week during critical development phases, monthly check-ins during consolidation periods or targeted preparation blocks around competitions.
We work collaboratively with young athletes, parents, coaches and sporting organisations to ensure every athlete is developing in the right way at the right time.
The Seven Stages of LTAD
Active Start (0–6)
Building movement habits and physical literacy through play and structured activity.
Fundamentals (6–9 / 6–8)

Learning to Train (9–12 / 8–11)
Formalising sport skills, introducing testing and monitoring.
Training to Train (12–16 / 11–15)
Building stamina, strength and sport-specific capacity during critical growth windows.
Training to Compete (16–23 / 15–17)
Specialisation, competition preparation and advanced technical development.
Training to Win (19+ / 18+)
Maximising performance at the highest level with full periodisation.
Active for Life (any age)
